| 내용 | 2000년 이후 판타지 영화에 등장하는 슈퍼히어로의 복식미 Aesthetics of Superhero Costumes in Fantasy Movies since 2000 김 윤 희 한남대학교 조형예술대학 의류학과 교수 Yoonhee Kim Dept. of Clothing & Textiles, Hannam University ______________________________________________________________________________ 논문요약 본 연구는 2000년 이후 급증하고 있는 판타지 영화에 등장하는 슈퍼히어로의 이미지를 해석하고 내재적 의미를 고찰하며, 슈퍼히어로의 복식미를 총체적으로 분석함을 목적으로 하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 슈퍼히어로는 ‘일상을 넘어서는 가공의 영웅으로, 초인적 능력, 높은 성과와 도덕적 고결함을 갖춘 영웅’으로 정의할 수 있으며, 대중들의 사랑을 많이 받는 대표적인 슈퍼히어로로는 슈퍼맨, 배트맨, 원더 우먼, 캡틴 아메리카, 토르, 스파이더맨, 헐크, 엑스맨, 아이언 맨이 있다. 둘째, 만화에 등장하는 슈퍼히어로 총 8명에 대하여 2000년 이후 영화화된 사례를 조사한 결과, 총 19편이었다. 슈퍼히어로가 주인공인 판타지 영화들 가운데 대부분은 2000년 이후 제작되기 시작하였음을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 판타지 영화에 등장하는 슈퍼히어로의 특징으로, 변신의 이중성, 신화화된 영웅, 미국적 애국자, 완벽한 인체를 들 수 있다. 넷째, 판타지 영화에 등장하는 슈퍼히어로의 복식미는 변신의 비장미, 신화화된 숭고미, 미국적 상징미, 완벽한 형식미로 해석할 수 있다. 이 연구를 통하여 판타지 영화에 등장하는 슈퍼히어로의 특징이 그들의 복식을 통해 더욱 강조되고, 완성됨을 알 수 있었다. 주제어 슈퍼히어로, 판타지 영화, 복식미 Abstract This study aims to interpret the images of superheroes who appear in fantasy movies in increasing numbers since 2000 and to conduct a systematic analysis of the aesthetics of superhero costumes. The result can be summarized as the following. First, superheroes can be defined as "fictional and fantastic heroes beyond everyday life, heroes with superhuman capabilities, high achievements, and moral purity." The most popular and beloved superheroes include Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Captain America, Thor, Spider-Man, Hulk, X-men, and Iron Man. Second, there have been at least eight superheroes who originally appear in comic books and are made into at least nineteen movies since 2000. Most of the fantasy movies in which superheroes are leading characters have been produced after 2000. Third, important characteristics of superheroes expressed in these fantasy movies include the duplicity of transformation, mythicized heroes, American patriotism, and perfection of body. Fourth, the aesthetics of superhero costumes in the fantasy movies seem to try to illustrate tragic beauty of transformation, sublime beauty of mythicization, American symbolism, and immaculate formal beauty. It is clear from this study that the characteristics of superheroes in these recent fantasy movies are most effectively highlighted and completed by their distinctive costumes.
