Dept. of Design & Art ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 논문요약 INTEL과 VICE의 국제적인 예술가 지원 프로그램인 The Creators Project 2011에 소개되고 전시되었던 대형 키네틱 인터랙티브 설치 작품인 TRAP의 기술적 부분에 대해 망라하였다. 작품의 핵심에 해당하는 자석과 자기장 변화를 비롯하여 자석을 바퀴로 사용하는 자체적인 인력(引力)을 통해 수직으로 세워진 벽에 전선 없이 붙어있는 채로 움직이는 새로운 형태를 제작하기 위해 학습하고 실험해왔던 모든 기술적인 자료와 체득의 결과를 정리하였다. 서보모터, 적외선 포토센서, 리튬폴리머 배터리, 앱솔루트 엔코더, 콘트롤러와 프로그래밍 방법, 그리고 프레임의 재질까지 지면이 허락하는 한 상세하게 밝혔다. 이 논문이 한 작품을 수행하는 동안의 무수한 실험 및 성과를 정리하는 실험보고서로 끝나지 않고, 이로부터 자석과 모터를 기반으로 하여, 중력을 거슬러 존재하는, 다른 신선한 작품을 생산하는 기술적 토대가 되기를 바란다. 주제어 미디어아트, 자석, 모터, 엔코더 Abstract This thesis covers all the technological facets of TRAP, a large scaled kinetic interactive installation, exhibited in Seoul venue in 2011 for The Creators Project supported by INTEL & Vice for the international artists in the area of new media. It also covers the core principle of the magnet and the magnetic field changes, including using a magnet as a wheel through its own workforce without wires while attached to a big wall. About servo motors, IR photo sensors, batteries, rotary encoders, controllers and programming methods, and materials of the frame are all sorted out here. I hope this paper which has all documented the entire process of a media artwork does not end in a mere experimental report, rather hope the newer pieces come arouse from this small technical base.
