Product design, Dankook university ---------------------------------------------------------------- 논문요약 사회 각 분야에서 ‘융합’의 움직임이 확산되고 있는 가운데, 디자인 분야에서도 융합에 대한 관심이 높아지기 시작했다. 본래 디자인은 예술, 기술, 산업 과 밀접한 관계를 이루며 발전해 온 분야이므로 다른 분야와는 달리 현대적인 의미에서의 융합에 대한 재 해석을 필요로 한다. 이에 융합과 관련하여 역사적, 사회적, 개념적 측면에서의 고찰의 과정을 거쳤다. 이 를 통해 컴퓨터의 발달에 의한 인지과학분야의 형성 은 학문에서의 융합적 움직임을 활발하게 했고, 정보 기술의 발달에 힘입은 네트워크의 발달로 인한 사회 적 변화가 융합의 사회적 확산을 촉진하는 기반이 되 었음을 알 수 있었다. 현대사회의 탈경계, 탈중심, 탈 장소, 혼성적 특성은 융합의 행위 및 결과물 자체 보 다는 융합이 결과물이 사회·문화와의 관계에 있어 새 로운 연결을 창출해낼 수 있는 잠재성 및 영향력이 융합의 개념에서 주요하게 다루어져야 함을 시사하고 있다. 이와 같은 관점에서, 융합디자인의 개념을 ‘융합의 과정이 결과물의 특성 형성에 강한 영향을 미치는 디 자인 행위로서, 그 결과물은 내·외부적으로 새로운 연결 및 절합 과정을 촉진시켜 사회·문화적 변화를 가져올 수 있는 가능태로서의 성격을 가지는 디자인’ 으로서 파악했다. 나아가 결과물과 사회·문화와의 상 호 관계성 중심으로 이해되어야 한다는 의미에서 ‘상호 혼성적 디자인’의 개념을 제시했다. 주제어 융합, 혼성, 잡종사회 Abstract As movements of 'convergence' are prevailing in various fields of society, interests in convergence increases even in the field of design. Because design has been developed in close connections with art, technology and industry, however, the convergence should be reinterpreted, unlike other fields. In this current paper, the convergence are explored in terms of historical, social and conceptual aspects. This work showed that the convergence movements in academic fields was facilitated by the formation of cognitive sciences induced by the development of computer sciences, and that social diffusion of convergence movements was based on significants changes in society induced by development of information technology such as advanced network system. It implies that in the contemporary society, which has the characteristics of border-crossing, decentration, displacement and hybrid, the convergence can not be interpreted only in terms of convergence itself or the outcomes of convergence. Rather, we should focus on other characteristics of converged outcomes such as potentialities and influences that convergence gives rise to new social and cultural connections. Seen from this point of view, convergence design was defined as 'design activities that process of convergence is strongly influence on characteristics of the outcomes, and these have characteristic ways of potentiality which brings social and cultural changes by giving impetus to the new networking and condivergence progress.' Being focused on interactions between converged outcomes and society and culture, the concept of 'Inter-hybrid design' were suggested. Keyword convergence, hybrid, heterotopic society |
