| 내용 | 키네틱 타이포그래피의 인자로서 움직임이 갖는 내포적 의미에 대한 탐색연구 - 카일 쿠퍼의 영화 오프닝 타이틀을 중심으로 - A Study on the Implications of Movement as a Factor of Kinetic Typography - Focus on the Kinetic Typography in the Opening Titles of Kyle Cooper's Movie - 주저자 : 우경훈 서강대학교 영상대학원 Woo kyung-hoon Sogang university 교신저자 : 김 면 성균관대학교 예술학부 Kim myoun Sungkyunkwan university -------------------------------------------------------------------- 논문요약 본 연구는 영화 오프닝 타이틀에 나타난 키네틱 타이포그래피의 움직임이 갖는 내포적 의미의 상징성 에 관한 선행연구가 미흡하여 탐색적인 예비 조사의 목적으로 수행되었다. 키네틱 타이포그래피의 움직임 에 주목한 이유는 정적 매체가 동적 매체로 전환되는 최근의 매스미디어의 흐름 속에서 전통적인 타이포그 래피와 분별되는 키네틱 타이포그래피의 가장 큰 특 징 중 하나가 움직임이라는 인자이기 때문이다. 본 연구는 키네틱 타이포그래피의 움직임을 유형화하는 분석 유목으로 진출과 후퇴(Z축), 좌우 이동(X축), 상 승과 하강(Y축), 혼합의 4가지를 설정해 카일 쿠퍼의 영화 오프닝 타이틀 20편을 연구 대상 사례로 삼아 빈도 분석을 실시하였고, 그 결과를 토대로 영화 오 프닝 타이틀의 주제가 키네틱 타이포그래피의 움직임 이 갖는 내포적 의미를 통해 어떻게 표출되어 나가는 지 내용 분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 사례 분석 결 과 키네틱 타이포그래피의 움직임은 영화 오프닝 타 이틀의 주제와 일정한 연관성을 갖고 특별한 상징적 의미를 담아 표출되고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 키네틱 타이포그래피가 제공하는 시각영상 속 의 내포적 의미를 본 연구자의 개인적 경험세계의 넓 이에 따라 추론하였다는 점에서 객관성을 담보하기 위한 보완적 연구가 필요함에도 불구하고, 귀납추리 의 방법을 통해 논리적 모순 없이 필연적 결론을 도 출하기 위한 연역추리의 사전 단계로서 내용적 진리 를 탐구하였다는 점에 의의가 있다. 주제어 키네틱 타이포그래피, 내포적 의미, 영화 오프닝 타이틀 Abstract This study examines the implications of movement in kinetic typography in movie opening titles because such studies were not enough in the past. The reasons why the study focuses on the movement of kinetic typography is that movement is the most characteristic factor in the kinetic typography as media trend changes from static to dynamic. For the analysis of movement, the study categorized it into four: forward and backward (Z axis), left and right (X axis), upward and downward (Y axis), and combined. The study carried out frequency analysis on the 20 opening titles of movies by Kyle Cooper and tried to find out how the subject of opening titles are expressed by the implications that the movement of kinetic typography generates. And the result shows that the movement of kinetic typography has a relationship with the subject of opening titles and it expresses symbolic significance. The study has limitations in that such implications that kinetic typography generates are inferred by a researcher's personal experiences. In that sense, it is lack of objectivity and need further complementary studies. But, the study has significance in that it uses inductive reasoning and it provides a foundation for deductive reasoning study. Keyword Kinetic Typography, Implication, Movie Opening Title |
