| 내용 | 텍스트 위계의 표현으로서 낱말사이에 대한 해석 - 바실리 칸딘스키의 울림과 기초평면 개념을 바탕으로 - The interpretation of the word-space as a text hierarchy - Based on 'Unison' and 'Basic Plane' concept by Wassily Kandinsky - 김 병 조 홍익대학교 대학원 시각디자인전공 박사과정 Kim Byung-jo Hongik university graduate school --------------------------------------------------------------- 논문요약 본 연구는 바실리 칸딘스키의 울림과 기초평면 개 념을 바탕으로 ‘의미영역(Meaning-Field)’라는 개념을 제안하고 이를 통해 텍스트의 위계와 낱말사이의 관 계를 해석하는 것이다. 인간은 자신의 요구와 맥락에 따라 대상에 위계를 부여하고 이를 공간으로 표현해왔다. 공간으로 대상 의 위계를 나타내는 방법은 텍스트에도 적용되어 대 상의 위계가 낱말사이로 드러난다. 연구자는 대상의 위계를 나타내는 낱말사이를 의 미영역 개념으로 해석하였다. 텍스트의 위계가 높을 수록 텍스트를 둘러싼 울림의 영역, 즉 의미영역이 커지게 되고 이 의미영역이 텍스트 배열에 영향을 끼 쳐 결과적으로 낱말사이가 변하게 된다. 본 연구에서 연구자는 타이포그래피는 텍스트의 의미에 영향을 끼친다는 모호한 테제를 반복하지 않 고 타이포그래피에 대한 해석 단위를 제안하며 텍스 트의 의미와 배열의 관계를 구체적으로 기술하였다. 주제어 의미영역, 낱말사이, 타이포그래피 Abstract This study suggests 'Meaning Field' based on Unison and Basic Plane concept by Wassily Kandinsky, and interprets the relation between text hierarchy and word-space. People have been according hierarchy to elements, upon the needs and context, using space. According hierarchy using space is equally applied in text, i.e., hierarchy via word-space. I interpreted word-space, which signifies the hierarchy, in the concept of 'Meaning Field'. As a word is higher in hierarchy, its Unison(the Meaning Field) becomes larger. This Meaning Field affects the overall text composition, resulting a change in word-space. In this research, the vague thesis of typography affecting text meaning was not repeated. Rather, interpretation unit for typography was suggested, and minutely described the relation between text meaning and composition. Keyword Meaning Field, word-space, typography |
