| 내용 | 유아가 선호하는 일러스트레이션 표현방식 - 동화책 '해님달님'캐릭터를 중심으로 - Expression types of Illustration matched on Children's preferences - With emphasis on the characters in the book, "the Sun and the Moon" - 전 혜 진 덕성여자대학교 강사 Chun hye-jin Duk-sung university -------------------------------------------------- 1. 서론 1.1. 연구배경 및 목적 1.2. 연구 내용 및 방법 2. 유아의 인지발달과 일러스트레이션 2.1 유아의 개념 및 정의 2.2.유아의 인지발달과 특성 2.3 일러스트레이션에서 형태 3. ‘해님달님’의 표현방식에 따른 선호도 3.1. 조사개요 3.2. 오누이캐릭터 선호도 분석 3.3. 호랑이캐릭터 선호도 분석 4. 결론 참고문헌 논문요약 성장기 유아들에게 있어 동화책은 친밀감을 바탕으로 세상의 지식을 습득하게 만드는 원동력이며 유아의 정서적 발달에 많은 도움을 주는 대상이다. 특히, 동화책에 등장하는 질 좋은 일러스트레이션은 유아가 가보지 못한 세계, 만져보지 못한 사물에 대한 구조와 형태 그리고 색채를 제공함으로써 유아들에게 지적 호기심을 자극할 뿐만 아니라 풍부한 상상력을 부여하며 궁극적으로 그들의 창조적 능력을 신장시킨다는 측면에서 그 중요성이 날로 강조되고 있다. 이같은 맥락에서 본 연구는 유아가 선호하는 일러스트레이션 표현방식에 대한 실증적 연구를 진행하였다. 동화책 “햇님달님”에 등장하는 오누이 캐릭터와 호랑이 캐릭터를 중심으로 해당 일러스트레이션의 형태(Gestalt) 지각 속성에 대한 5~7세 남녀 유아들의 선호도를 파악하였다. 연구를 통해 파악한 주요 발견점은 크게 5가지로 요약할 수 있다. 첫째, 유아들은 얼굴 표정이 보다 생동감 있게 표현된 인물 캐릭터를 선호한다. 둘째, 캐릭터 외곽선의 굵기는 너무 굵거나 없는 것 보다는 1mm 내외의 중간 굵기를 선호한다. 셋째, 색상과 관련하여 단색 계통의 원색적 분위기를 선호한다. 넷째, 남아와 여아의 선호 성향이 상이한 것을 파악할 수 있었는데, 구체적으로는 남아의 경우 색채와 표현이 강한 것을 선호하는 반면 여아의 경우 색채와 표현이 부드러운 것을 선호하였다. 마지막으로 남녀 모두 “선함”의 표상인 오누이 캐릭터의 경우 부드러운 곡선과 함께 얼굴 표정이 살아있는 캐릭터를 선호한 반면, “악함”의 표상인 호랑이 캐릭터의 경우엔 직선적 표현과 색채 대비가 강한 캐릭터를 선호하는 것으로 나타났다. 이상과 같은 연구 결과는 향후 질 좋은 일러스트레이션을 개발하기 위한 가이드라인으로서 의미가 있다. 주제어 일러스트레이션, 캐릭터, 동화책, 유아 선호도 Abstract Fairy tale book is one of the important motives for growing young children to gain the knowledge of the world based on its inherent intimacy and it leads them to be grown up emotionally. High-quality illustrations, especially, that appears in fairy tale books could make young children to understand the structure, form and color of the objects and in the world which are never touched and faced by them so that it not only makes them interesting but give to them inspire the imagination. For that reason, the importance of high-quality illustrations has been increasingly emphasized in terms it helps the children to have the abilities to create. In such a context, an empirical study concerned about expression types of illustration matched on young children’s preferences has been performed. With emphasis on “the brother and sister character” and “the tiger” that appear in the fairy tale book named “the sun and the moon,” the 5-7 year children’s preferences about the cognitive attributes in Gestalt of illustrations have been found out. Major findings can be summarized into 5 in the following. Firstly, the young children prefer the human characters which expressed the facial expression vividly. Secondly, they like better medium outlines for the outlines of characters around a thickness of 1mm than too thick or nonexistent. Thirdly, relating with color, the monochromatic primary colors are preferred. Fourthly, the difference between the boys’ preference and the girls’ are found. In detail, the boys prefer the characters which are strong with the color and the expression but the girls the soft. Lastly, all of the children prefer the characters in soft curved lines and vivid facial expression for the icon of goodness, “the brother and the sister” but for the tiger character, “the icon of evilness,” they prefer rectilinear expression and strong color contrast. The result of this study is meaningful as the guidelines for developing high-quality illustration in the future. Keywords Illustration, Character, Fairy tale book, Young children’s preference |
