| 내용 | 사용자 인터페이스 디자인 개선을 위한 페이퍼 프로토타이핑 활용에 관한 연구 A Study on the Practical Use of Paper Prototyping for Improvement of User Interface Design 이정호, 이운형 경원대학교 시각디자인과 교수, 런던 컬리지 오브 커뮤니케이션 인터랙티브 미디어 학과 Lee jung-ho, Lee woon-hyung Kyungwon University College of Arts & Design Dept. of Visual Design Department of Interactive Media, London College of Communication ============================================== 1. 서 론 1-1. 연구 배경 및 목적 1-2. 연구 방법과 범위 2. 사용성 평가 2-1. 사용성 평가의 기준 2-2. 사용성 평가 기법 2-3. 프로토타이핑 3. 페이퍼 프로토타이핑 3-1. 페이퍼 프로토타이핑 개요 3-2. 페이퍼 프로토타이핑의 특성 3-3. 적용 프로세스 4. 적용 사례 4-1. 실험 개요 4-2. 실험 결과 5. 결 론 참고문헌 논문요약 사용자 인터페이스 개발 프로세스에서 반복적인 사용성 평가를 통해 이루어지는 디자인의 개선은 사용자 중심 디자인 구현에 있어 핵심적인 부분의 하나이다. 본 연구는 사용자 인터페이스 개발 초기 단계에서 사용성 평가를 위해 효과적으로 적용될 수 있는 페이퍼 프로토타이핑 기법에 관해 고찰하고 그 적용 프로세스를 방법론적 관점에서 정립하여 실무에서 합리적으로 적용할 수 있는 활용 방안을 제시하는 것을 그 목표로 하였다. 연구 수행 방법으로는 먼저 사용성 평가에 관한 기존 문헌 조사를 통해 평가 원리와 함께 사용성을 측정하기 위한 평가 기법에 관해 고찰하였으며 사용자 인터페이스 설계 단계에서 프로토타입 제작이 가지는 의미와 그 역할에 대해 분석하였다. 다음으로 페이퍼 프로토타이핑의 특성에 관해 고찰하고 기존 연구 결과를 조합하여 페이퍼 프로토타이핑의 특성에 적합한 5단계의 테스트 프로세스를 정립하고 각 단계별로 수행 과제를 분석하였다. 또한 본 연구 결과를 토대로 모바일 폰 전용 인터랙티브 스토리의 개발 과정에서 페이퍼 프로토타이핑 기법을 적용하고 이를 디자인 개선에 반영한 사례를 통해 그 활용 방안을 제시하였다. 본 연구 결과는 사용자 인터페이스 설계 단계에 효과적으로 적용되어 최종적으로 전체 개발 비용 절감 측면에서 도움이 될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 주제어 사용성 테스트, 사용성 평가, 페이퍼 프로토타이핑, 사용자 인터페이스 디자인 Abstract An improvement in user interface design that is accomplished through iterative usability testing is an essential part of user-centered design for user interface design development. This study aims to suggest the application of paper prototyping method that is applied to practical designing for usability evaluation. For this purpose, the study examines prototyping methods which can be applied to usability evaluation in the early stage of development process and establishes the appropriate process for paper prototyping in a methodological point of view. In order to conduct research, based on the researching of existing usability evaluation, usability principles and the evaluation methods for measuring usability were considered. The study analyzed the meaning of making prototype and its role in development stage. Distinctive features of paper prototyping were considered by the composing of existing research. The study established the appropriate five-step test process for characteristic features of paper prototyping and analyzed the tasks to be performed on each stage in the process. Also based on the result, the practical use of paper prototyping was provided by the case study that user interface design was improved by applying the paper prototyping method used in the design process of the interactive story for mobile phones. The result of this study will be able to reduce the total cost of development by being effectively applied to the designing stage in the development of user interface design.
